A sample a day for 30 days- Part 2

Once again I’ve accumulated a ton of beauty samples! I’ve decided to do another 30 day sample challenge (you can view this first one here) This is totally different from a foil packet challenge (seen here) In this challenge I will be using deluxe sized samples rather than little foil packets.

I feel like these challenges help me minimize my sample stash as well as introduce me to great (and sometimes not so great) products. So let the sampling begin!

1. Bumble & Bumble Don’t Blow it Fine (H)air Styler

I had really high Hope’s for this because like 90% of the time I air dry my hair but I honestly didn’t notice a difference in this compared to when I just regularly air dry my hair. Not to mention, it didn’t really smell good and I prefer nice smelling hair products.

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in St. Tropez.

I spent 100 Sephora points on this and I am SO glad I did! While this wasn’t a shade I would typically wear, it looked okay and this stuff is amazing! It’s thick but not too thick. It’s not sticky. It stayed on all day through eating and drinking. I’m definitely going to pick up a full sized one in another color!

*UPDATE* I did in my Sephora Haul!

3. Benefit Hoola Matte Bronzer in natural bronze.

I was pleasantly surprised by this! In all of the pictures I had seen of it it looked really orange but it’s actually a really nice brown. It’s very pigmented and a little bit goes a long way! Overall I was really impressed with this product!

4. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Gel in clear.

I actually liked this. I didnt think i would because I’m not a huge brow gel person in the first place. I have one that I use but other than that I typically steer clear. But this really did give my brows a more polished look. (I literally do nothing to them other than get them threaded and occasionally swipe on my go-to brow gel.)

5. Lancome Mon Sieur Big Mascara.

I’ve had this mascara before and it’s one of my absolute favorites, if not my absolute favorite! It gives great length and volume.

6. Tatcha The Water Cream

I actually liked this. I’ve tried a lot of moisturizers over the past year and I’d say this is in the top 5.

7. Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm

I. Love. This. Stuff. Hands down best way to remove makeup! You can rub it all over your eyes and still open them without them burning before you rinse it off! I definitely need a full size!

*UPDATE* I bought the full size!

8. Makeup For Ever Ultra HD Perfector Blurring Skin Tint With Sunscreen

This wasn’t quite my shade but it was close enough that I could make it work. It was kind of dry. I definitely won’t ever purchase it.

9. Makeup For Ever Artist Rouge

I originally wasn’t going to use this just because I feel like all lip products you get in subscription boxes are this shade but I decided to give it a try anyway! It glides on wonderfully. The texture is great. It is kind of a typical shade that you get in all beauty boxes, like I said, and it wasn’t quite for me but it does seem like a nice fall shade!

10. Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder in Glow.

I really liked the formula if this but the shade was a bit too dark for me. It seems to have a dry feeling, which was fine for me but I can see it being a problem if you have dry skin.

11. Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder in Translucent.

Same review as above but the shade is much more fitting for me.

12. Tarte Maracuja C-Brighter Eye Treatment

This had a strong chemical/acholol smell. I haven’t noticed much of a difference after using it for a while.

13. Sunday Riley Good Gene’s Lactic Acid Treatment

This had a very strong earthy, lemon scent as well as a very strong chemical smell. It was weird. It felt nice on the face though!

14. Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil

I have a bigger version of this and I really like it. It does feel very nice on the skin and it seems very hydration. On days that my face is extra dry I add a few pumps of this and my face feels so much better!

15. Drunk Elephant T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial

This is a 20 minute wash off mask that burns slightly when first applied but calms down after a few minutes. I really enjoy using this!

16. Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel

This almost completely cleared up a blemish overnight. The only ingredient is salicylic acid so I’m guessing you could get anything with that ingredient and it would do the same but I still liked it!

17. Bliss Makeup Melt

This stuff was AWFUL! It didn’t take any of my makeup off, it just caked the mascara and eyeliner into my waterline. It didn’t even take my foundation off. I had to go back in with my regular cleanser just so my face would feel clean.

18. Biore Charcoal Cleansing Micellar Water

I didn’t think I would like this but I actually do. I’ve been using it every night.

19. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

This was okay.. A little watery and didn’t seem very moisturizing once it dried down.

20. Caution Hourglass Mascara

This is now my go-to mascara! I absolutely love it and I will be purchasing the full size!

21. CAUDALIE Vinoperfect Serum

This feels very nice on the face. It smells like wine and feels very luxurious.

22. Benefit Gimme Brow in 1.

This is probably my new favorite brow gel!

23. Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff.

This was surprisingly easy to apply and blend out. I really liked it and would love to try more shades!

24. Tarte Quench Hydrating Primer

I didn’t have high hopes for this because I’m not a huge Tarte fan but it was surprisingly nice. It has a silky, silicone feel to it.

25. La Mer Moisturizing Cream

Okay, so I’ve been dying to try this stuff forever but never have because its insanely expensive. I have to say, it smelled really good but other than that I actually wasn’t a fan! It was to thick and kind of dry. I’m really glad I’ve never invested in the full size!

26. Fresh Soy Face Cleanser

I really likes this! It sudsed up a lot, which made me feel like my face was getting deeply clean. It did have an odd smell (like cucumbers) but overall I think it’s a great product! MUST. BUY. FULL. SIZE.

27. Algenist Elevate Advanced Retinol Serum

I needed a good retinol and this has done the trick! It feels very luxurious when you put it on and I’m going to have to get the full size!

28. Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair

This stuff is luxurious! I need the full size asap. A little bit goes a long way though.

29. T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum

I really enjoy this! It’s one of my favorite parts of my nighttime routine. It makes my skin feel so nice!

30. Hello Flouride Free Whitening Toothpaste

This made my teeth SO WHITE! I thought it would taste horrible because its black but it tasted like regular minty toothpaste! It’s my new go-to toothpaste for sure!

Another 30 day challenge is on the books and I’m so glad I got to try all of these lovely (and some not so lovely) products! I’ll be starting a new one soon so stay tuned!

I hate that Makeup Forever HD foundation too! That Tatcha moisturizer sounds nice & so does the Anastasia lipgloss. I’m surprised to read your not a fan of Tarte! It’s one of my fave brands!

    Love these posts, Emma! 😄

A lot of really great products on this list! 🙂 DE is my favorite skin care brand (I love the TLC Framboos & C-Firma). A coworker recently gifted me with the Marula Oil and Sukari Baby Facial, so I’m super excited to try those products out since they’re new to me!
