Around six years ago I got divorced and wasn’t in the most ideal financial situation so I hopped on pinterest and found tons of money saving apps. I tried a lot of them. Some were great, some failed. Let me tell you about the ones that have worked best for me.
I have a whole folder of money saving apps on the front screen of my phone so I’m always reminded they’re there.
Swagbucks was one of the first, and for the longest time the only, money saving/making app I used. There was actually one year that I was able to buy all of my kids’ Christmas presents using only what I earned from Swagbucks. True story.
There are five different ways to redeem swagbucks-
Shop online as you normally would. Just go through the Swagbucks browser
Discover (which is typically “free trials” of things) (just make sure to cancel the free trial before it ends so you don’t get charged unexpectedly!)
Invite friends!! Feel free to use my
invite link here!
Once you’ve racked up some swagbucks you can redeem them for gift cards. Here are just a few of the many to choose from!
Shopkick is another really good one. This has to be the easiest one to use as well! You can literally get points for walking into stores with your phone (as long as your bluetooth is on) but you can also get points from scanning receipts from that same store and even more points if your receipt has items that they have selected that week.
Shopkick can be used at so many stores…
My favorite part is that you get to pick a gift card that you wish to redeem with your points and the app keeps a little tracker for you to see how close you are. It’s very motivational and you can change your giftcard preference at any time.

3. Inbox Dollars
Inbox Dollars is a little time consuming but totally worth it. You get the most points by taking quizzes but there are definitely other ways to get them as well!
Once you reach $30 on your account you can cash in your points.

4. Receipt Hog
This is another super easy one to use. You just scan receipts from literally anywhere and you earn coins. You also randomly get the opportunity to play a slot machine and earn even more coins. The coins can be cashed in through Amazon, Visa or PayPal.
Ibotta is the closest to couponing that I will ever get to couponing. You pick the stores you are most likely shop at and they have little digital offers for certain items.
Then you can redeem your cash back a few different ways…

So hopefully this helped you guys out a little bit. Like I said before, I was able to pay for my kids’ entire Christmas just by using ONE of these apps so imagine what using all of them can do!
Question of the day-
What are your favorite money saving apps?
