Meet Sophia

A couple posts ago I told you guys that I had acquired a mini pig. I was out shopping with a friend in another town and my husband was at work when he texted me a picture and said “Look what I got!”

Apparently he was at work and someone was like “Want a pig?” and he said yes without asking a single question about the thing. How old is it? Where did it come from?… none of that was asked.

We know nothing about her other than the guy got her from a breeder as a gift for his girlfriend and it was too much for her to handle. We have no idea how old she is but, by the looks of her and the bit of research we’ve done we think she is very young. Within a couple months old. We have an appointment with a vet next week to find out more info about her and take the next steps in making sure shes healthy (spaying, etc.)

We decided to name her Sophia and she has been the most wonderful addition to our household. She was fully potty trained (litter box) in 2 days and we are working on getting her on a schedule because apparently pigs love schedules! She already knows her name and comes to me when I call her. Ill give you guys an update after her first vet appointment!

Thank you! I live in the midwest and have always known people had them but I didn’t realize that SO many people had them until I joined a mini pig group on Facebook. the sad part is they are constantly getting rehomed because they’re a lot of work. Sophia, for example, was bought as a Christmas present and she was already rehomed to me by dec. 29th. I think shes totally worth the “hassle”
