Oh my goodness I can’t believe Mocha is SIX MONTHS OLD already! I tried to convince my husband to let me throw her a half birthday party and he vetoed it. (First birthday party is goin’ down though!)
At her last vet appointment she weighed 8 pounds but that’s been a while so I’m guessing shes around 10 or 11 now. So shes almost full grown, which makes me kind of sad because she was the teeny tiniest little puppy ever when we brought her home!
Ugh she was so cute! (Still is!)
She is starting to go from wild and crazy puppy to a more laid back dog. She still has some puppy tendencies but she has started doing things like laying on our laps when we’re on the couch and things like that instead of just running around the house at full speed non stop. One of my favorite things that she does is lay on my lap while I’m doing my makeup every day. Well, let me rephrase that, it WAS one of my favorite things until she started stealing my beauty blender out of my trunk and making me chase her down to get it back. She thinks it’s a fun game. I think its grounds to re-home her. Just kidding. But seriously…
She has started losing her baby teeth which is interesting but it also means shes chews on things more than usual. We can’t give her hard bones because it could make the open wound where the teeth fell out bleed more so theres not a whole lot we can do about it.
It started to get really cold here in the midwest so we had to buy her a sweater…
Before I knew it my husband was coming home with doggy tracksuits and a Christmas dress for her.
You would never believe that it took me almost 5 years to convince him to even let me get a dog!
She really is becoming the best dog though. She hangs out with me all day long, following me from room to room in the house. She sleeps with me and always goes to bed and gets up whenever I do. If I sleep til noon, she sleeps til noon. If i get up at 5 am, she gets up at 5 am.
She loves everyone and is great with the kids and adores my husband but we can all tell that I’m her favorite person. They say that schnauzers are one person dogs and I truly believe it. If I leave the house she does the saddest cry as if shes being hurt or something and I’m the only one she does it for.
That all being said, she does have her stubborn moments. She likes to make people chase her around with things she shouldn’t have and she uses her voice a lot. If she isn’t getting enough attention she will literally bark and howl at you. Also, she hates selfies…
As soon as she sees the camera she immediately looks away and I can totally tell she does it on purpose.
Overall shes an amazing dog and has been the perfect addition to our family. We are all just as in love with her as we were the day we got her!
